Since January 2010 I work on a PhD project at the University of Erfurt about photojournalistic work in conflict and countries torn apart by war. The main focus is to look at the role taken by photojournalists in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.
My first university degree was in Photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund, followed by a master in „Peace and Security Studies“at the IFSH in Hamburg.
The main areas of my work are human rights, training in nonviolent conflict transformation, peace work with media, conflict sensitive media and photojournalism. Regarding my personal experience in conflict areas I traveled and researched in Mexico, Guatemala, Israel and Palestine and Cambodia. I work and live in the Oscar-Romero-Haus in Bonn, a social community living project.
